Church Year-End Giving Letter (Samples)

Sample 1: Short and warm
Dear [First Name],
Thank you for your faithful giving to [Church Name] in [Year]. Because of your generosity, we were able to [one or two things your church did this year]. Below is a record of the contributions we received from you between January 1 and December 31, [Year]. Please keep it for your tax records.
[Gift list and total]
No goods or services were provided in exchange for these contributions other than intangible religious benefits.
With gratitude,
[Name], [Title]
Sample 2: Pastor's letter
Dear [First Name],
As we begin a new year, I want to thank you personally for the part you played in the life of [Church Name] in [Year]. Every gift, large or small, helped us worship together, care for one another and serve our community.
Enclosed is your contribution statement for [Year]. If anything looks incorrect, please contact the church office at [phone or email] and we will gladly correct it.
No goods or services were provided in exchange for these contributions other than intangible religious benefits.

Sample 3: Using the tool's placeholders

What the statement part should include
The letter is the warm part. The statement itself should show the church's name, the amount (and date) of each gift, and, if it's true, a line saying no goods or services were provided, or that only intangible religious benefits were provided.
